Project Administrator

An opportunity exists for a proactive and versatile team player to join the IT Change and Project Delivery (ITCPD) team within the UCL Information Services Division (ISD). This is an interesting and varied role for project professionals to provide support within the Project Support team and to work on multiple IT related projects and with stakeholders across the University. Project Support Administrators are required to undertake a wide range of different activities and may work on more than one project at any given time and so multitasking and juggling many different activities is very much part of the role.

The Project Support Administrator role includes: maintaining data using intermediate Excel skills, assisting at events, servicing of project boards including meeting scheduling and minutes, responding to and fielding general project enquiries, providing support at interviews, supporting the new starter and leavers processes and creating and maintaining project data repositories such as shared drives and SharePoint.

The successful candidates will have and a driven and tenacious approach to work. They will use their excellent communication skills to build strong working relationships across ISD and the wider university.

The successful candidate will be a highly organised, self-starter with excellent communication skills, a good eye for detail and strong administrative experience. They will use their excellent interpersonal skills to build strong working relationships across ISD and the wider university and will take pride in providing reliable and quality support for others. They will have a high level of competence with Microsoft Office and other basic software, as well being interested in further developing career in IT projects. It is essential that the candidates have the ability to multitask and work well under pressure by using their organisational skills.

The role requires the post holder to work independently and use their initiative to ensure Project Support Management, Project Managers and Project Support Officers are supported. Previous administrative support experience is essential. PRINCE2 (or equivalent), SharePoint experience and knowledge of the higher education sector are desirable.

This post is a long-term opportunity with a finite funded contract initially available for 2 years. The post relies on continued availability of project funding which is confirmed on an annual basis. It is expected that the funding for these posts will continue for a significant period of time. In the event that capital funding for this post ceases then at least 3 months notice will be given.

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 5. The salary range will be £24,020 - £27,316 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
