Do you have a strong background in chemistry or process engineering with experience in inks and coatings development? We are looking for a project engineer with a background in developing inks and coatings for battery electrodes. Are you ready to join a growing research group in energy storage and batteries?
Using the resources of our Energy Innovation Centre (EIC), you will join the team based on the Battery Scale-Up Pilot Line to help deliver a project looking at new battery technologies and their testing up to large cell format. The project will deliver breakthrough knowledge in the automotive sector through scale-up technology, followed by extensive electrochemical and safety characterisation at cell level. Our pilot line facility is unique within the UK and will allow manufacturing and scientific challenges such as improving energy density, power density, cost, functional safety, reliability and improving lifetime to be addressed for the benefit of industry.
You will preferably have experience in formulation, inks, pastes, tablets and process and quality control with experience of lithium ion batteries and electrochemistry being an advantage. You will be experienced in planning and running scientific experiments and delivering projects to time and budget.
In addition to this, you will possess a good honours degree or equivalent in chemistry, physics, materials, engineering or another relevant discipline and a doctorate level qualification in a relevant research field (or equivalent).
