Full time starting salary is normally in the range £22,277 to £23,933. With potential progression once in post to £27,705 a year.

The PA to the Director of External Relations is a key position offering dedicated support to the Director and a central point of contact for the wider division. As such the post-holder will be expected to deliver exceptional levels of customer service at all times. The post-holder will be an integral part of the ER Directorate team, contributing to its success as the University enters its next ambitious period of growth.

They will provide professional administrative and secretarial support for the Director of External Relations and as required, members of the ER Directorate team and will be responsible for managing a high volume of independent activity. The post-holder must therefore be a good team worker with excellent interpersonal skills who will excel in developing relationships with colleagues within External Relations and across the University. The post-holder must have the ability to work in a busy and fast-paced environment and cope with conflicting demands as the post requires a significant amount of initiative and personal responsibility. They must be confident and competent in dealing with senior members of the University.

The successful post-holder will be driven, ambitious and highly professional, business-minded and proactive with excellent communication skills and high levels of personal integrity. They will be well-organised, relentlessly positive and resourceful with an ability to use their own initiative to prioritise their workload and undertake simultaneous and often inter-dependant projects.

The post-holder will have boundless enthusiasm for the University, its ambitions and role in society. They will be creative, willing to challenge conventional thinking and confident in their decision-making. They will take an active interest in the work of External Relations and the broader University.

The post-holder is expected to become familiar with the University’s key policies and procedures.
