Senior Laboratory Manager

University of Oxford - Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH)

Grade 9: £46,336 - £53,691 p.a. (pro rata for part-time)

The Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) contains world-renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. The NDPH Wolfson Laboratories have over 30 staff and provide core laboratory services for the large scale clinical trials and studies led by NDPH and its collaborators.

As Senior Laboratory Manager you will have overarching managerial duties for the laboratory and responsibility for high level project and technical management duties to support the laboratories accreditation to ISO17025:2005 (including protocol development, method validation, documentation, performance monitoring and non-conformity reports). You will also have responsibility for high level administrative duties including contracts, tenders and finance.

To be considered for this role, you will have BMS, NHS MLSO grade qualifications or a BSc Honours degree recognised by the IBMS (or equivalent) with extensive experience in clinical chemistry laboratory management and troubleshooting clinical biochemistry and immunoassay analysers in a diagnostic or clinical research laboratory. You will also have exceptional communication, team working and problem solving skills.

The position is full-time (part-time considered) and fixed-term for 2 years in the first instance.
