MSc Course Administrator

The Mathematical Institute is looking for an enthusiastic individual with excellent organisational skills to provide administrative support within its academic administration team. This is a permanent, full-time post.

The postholder is the first point of contact for students and academic staff in relation to the MSc in Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing and the MSc in Mathematics and the Foundations of Computer Science, and is responsible for maintaining information systems. The postholder will need to use initiative in order to deal with varied and complex queries, in order to collect and present information on a variety of matters, and in order to set up and maintain appropriate record-keeping systems. The postholder will be expected to work with minimum supervision, and prioritise competing demands effectively. This is a new combination of duties and the weight and balance of duties will be kept under review.

The postholder will have a good general educational level, experience and a good understanding of general administrative practices and procedures. Excellent organisational skills to collect, collate, store and disseminate information together with a flexible approach to tasks, the ability to balance demands and prioritising workload in an efficient and sensible manner in order to meet deadlines.
