Executive Assistant – Pro Vice Chancellor’s Office

University of Exeter - College Operations - College of Social Sciences and International Studies

The University of Exeter is a Russell Group university that combines world-class research with very high levels of student satisfaction. Exeter has over 21,000 students from more than 130 different countries and is in the top 1% of universities in the world with 98% of its research rated as being of international quality. Our research focuses on some of the most fundamental issues facing humankind today. Fifty percent of our organisation is made up of Professional Services support staff that partner closely with the Academic colleges to ensure we achieve our strategy and vision.

The SSIS Pro Vice-Chancellor's (PVC) office support team provides PA and executive support to the College Executives (Heads of Disciplines, Associate Deans, Director of College Operations and Pro-Vice Chancellor) and supports a number of the college wide processes and procedures.  The PVC office works closely with internal colleagues and external stakeholders in support of the work and goals of the College.  The PVC Office organises complex diaries, arranges events, manages the annual cycle of committee meetings, organises academic interviews and inductions for new staff.  The members of the PVC Office support team work closely in all areas, supporting each other as required, so a proactive, flexible approach and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities will be essential.

This is a varied, interesting and challenging role and the right person will need to have excellent time management and organisational skills, as well as being a good communicator with proven experience of providing executive level PA support.  Attention to detail, accuracy and a high standard in both written and oral communications are all essential requirements for the role, as is the ability to demonstrate total confidentiality.  The successful candidate will also work closely with the other professional services staff in the College, supporting team activities and cover as necessary.

The University offers some fantastic benefits including 39 days leave per year, options for flexible working, numerous discounts at leading retailers, an onsite gym, a cycle to work scheme and a stunning campus environment in the heart of Exeter.  If you are not currently in Exeter please have a look at our website for some further information on what a beautiful part of the country we are based in.

All members of the College's Professional Services team are expected to support and develop the College's objectives by providing high quality professional services to students, staff, visitors and clients.
