Cell and Molecular Biologist, Biochemist

TTP is a leading Technology Development and Consulting firm based on our own science park in Melbourn, South Cambridgeshire. We create innovative technologies at the frontier of science and engineering.

We are currently looking for a Cell and Molecular Biologist or Biochemist to join our Medical Devices team for a 12 month fixed-term contract. This may suit candidates wanting to transition from academia to industry, or those wishing to explore the world of Technology Consulting as a career path.

The work will draw on your academic qualifications and laboratory experience to help discover and develop new technologies for our clients. The specific applications may include novel drug delivery devices, point of care diagnostics, emerging technologies to support cell and gene therapy, human microphysiology systems, and other biomedical platforms.

In this role you will be working at the interface of science and industry developing real world applications that will positively impact people’s lives.

To qualify you will have excellent postgraduate academic qualifications, a clear enthusiasm for this type of work, an ability to work independently to deadlines, and hands-on experience in the following:

  • Advanced cell culture techniques (such as primary cell culture, iPS differentiation, transfection and transduction)
  • Molecular biology and biochemical techniques such as qPCR, bacterial cloning, western blot, and ELISA
  • Cell imaging and analysis techniques, such as flow cytometry and fluorescent microscopy
