An enthusiastic, dedicated science administrator is being sought for an available post within the laboratory of Professor Seth Grant, who leads the multidisciplinary Genes to Cognition programme (

The qualified applicant will be hired to support the development of grant applications and post-award management; identify relevant external funding; provide advice on the preparation and costing of research bids; scrutinise grant agreements, support electronic submissions and liaise with university administration and external funding bodies and other collaborators. The research team includes experts in molecular genetics, biochemistry, synapse biology and image analysis. The applicant will be encouraged to interact closely with group members so that grant funding applied for will reflect the research interests.

The successful applicant will have a knowledge and interest in science and will become a member of research team studying fundamental mechanisms of the brain and diseases of the brain. The successful applicant will ideally have experience in research grant writing or application processes. It is essential that the candidate has strong communication skills as interactions with research scientists, administrative staff, financial officers and external research grant funding bodies will be required. The applicant will work closely with the line manager and will be expected to prioritise various tasks as necessary.
