Lecturer in Developmental Psychology (Childhood Adversity)

This post is available to undertake research in the area of childhood adversity in line with the School’s research strategy, to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and to contribute to School administration/outreach activities. The appointee would be expected to make a significant contribution to teaching on the School’s Master’s programme in Childhood Adversity. Applications are welcome from researchers in any area of developmental psychology with a focus on childhood adversity

The successful candidate must have:

  • An undergraduate honours or postgraduate degree in psychology or closely related discipline.
  • Or be about to obtain, a PhD in a relevant area of psychological research. (PhD must be completed at time of taking up post).
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant research experience.
  • Strong theoretical and empirical background in Childhood Adversity.
  • Research experience in Childhood Adversity.
  • Research interests that are sustainable and that complement and enhance existing research activities within the School the area of Developmental Psychology.
  • A strong publication record in peer reviewed psychology journals /conference papers, commensurate with stage of career.
  • Experience of teaching psychology to undergraduates or postgraduates
  • (When completing the application, individuals must provide information on their teaching experience, including degree programme, class size, type of teaching (e.g. lectures, tutorials).
  • The ability to contribute to broader management and administrative processes.
