The Office of the Vice-Chancellor (OVC) provides support for the Vice-Chancellor and other members of the University's Executive Group. You would be part of the team that enables the OVC, and hence the Executive Group, to carry out its responsibilities, by providing a range of administrative duties to achieve a professional and efficiently run office.

As Office Administrator and PA you will:

  • Provide a range of administrative tasks in the Vice-Chancellor's office and the Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor's office.
  • Act as a main point of contact for visitors, callers and email enquirers to the Office of the Vice-Chancellor (OVC).
  • Plan and organise internal and external meetings.
  • Provide finance assistance to the Finance Administrator for the OVC.
  • Assist the Policy Adviser with project work as required to ensure maximum impact from corporate initiatives (in particular KMTV)

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • Experience of providing PA and administrative support.
  • IT skills using Microsoft Office packages.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and to build effective partnerships with a wide range of colleagues.
  • The ability to work flexibly, taking account of conflicting demands.

The Vice-Chancellor is Chief Executive of the University and, together with an executive team, has responsibility for all University matters. The Vice-Chancellor’s portfolio is varied, covering all activities within the University including: promoting the University regionally, nationally and internationally; membership of scientific and higher education bodies, and charities.

These responsibilities mean that the Vice-Chancellor’s personal office staff deal with a diverse range of people, from University staff and students to county, national and international leaders and dignitaries.
