Senior Database Programmer

Fixed term maternity cover contract. This contract is fixed term until 31 March 2019 or until the return of the post holder, whichever is sooner

Full-time or part-time to a minimum of 0.75 FTE (between 37.5 and 28 hours per week).

Leicester Clinical Trials Unit is a fully registered UKCRC trials unit, conducting a large portfolio of clinical research across a wide range of therapeutic areas. We work with both nationally and internationally acclaimed investigators to deliver high quality, high impact clinical research.

We are currently seeking a self-motived, degree educated individual who will provide us with technical expertise across a broad range of IT and IT related functions to support our ongoing activity, but also support us to develop our forward planning objectives and strategy.

You will be required to take the lead in the design, development, testing, implementation and documentation of a number of database applications for our clinical trials (both internal and external to the unit). You will also contribute to the ongoing development of the processes used by the Unit and its IT and Data services team to develop systems and IS solutions to support the core operational functions of the LCTU.

The ideal candidate for this role will have strong programming skills with experience of designing and developing databases using applications such as C#, VB.NET \ASP.NET, as well as having a clear understanding of relational database design with experience using SQL Server in order to implement relational databases.
