Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care

Applications are invited for the Permanent post of Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care within the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine.

The Section of Small Animal Clinical Studies of the School of Veterinary Medicine in UCD has created a new permanent post to support continued growth and strategic planning in the area of veterinary emergency and critical care.

Applicants must hold a degree in veterinary medicine registerable with the Veterinary Council of Ireland or a specialist degree with which an application for limited registration with the Veterinary Council (see www.vci.ie) could be made. The successful applicant must be an active specialist in Emergency and Critical Care with European (ECVECC) or American (ACVECC) board certification or be eligible to obtain such a qualification in reasonable time.

The successful candidate will contribute effectively to the Section of Small Animal Clinical Sciences and the UCD Veterinary Hospital and in particular, will participate fully in undergraduate (clinical) teaching, in postgraduate residency training, and in the Intensive Care Service provided by the Hospital. The successful candidate will also engage in original collaborative national and international research leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals, obtaining funding and foster collaborations, both nationally and internationally. The grade of the appointment will reflect the level of achievement across the themes of clinical expertise, clinical teaching, academic activity and research.

95 Lecturer/Assistant Professor (above the bar) Salary Scale: €51,807 - €79,194 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
