Buying and Merchandising Coordinator (variable hours)

The University of Oxford Botanic Garden is looking to appoint a Buying and Merchandising Coordinator on a fixed-term basis for 12 weeks. The role is part-time and variable hours, expecting to be on average 18 hours per week.

This is an exciting new opportunity for a Buying and Merchandising Co-ordinator to co-ordinate the buying, merchandising and visual merchandising planning for the Oxford Botanic Garden (OBG) shop. During the project, the role will be focused on delivering against key project objectives, whilst being able to enhance the visitor experience and drive commercial profit for the Garden.

Responsibilities will include: buying and merchandising for the shop, working alongside Management from the OBG and wider teams (including the GLAM division: Gardens, Libraries and Museums); assisting with maximising shop sales, and accurately recording financial data; and assisting with the planning and delivery of space-planning and shop layout for forthcoming seasons.

The Buying and Merchandising Co-ordinator will be an excellent communicator and cascade best practise and efficient ways of working through effective written and verbal communication, both with stakeholders, and across the team.
