Coventry University has seen huge global successes in recent years: Times Higher Education University of the Year 2015, The Good University Guides' Modern University of the Year 2016, and now the 12th best University in The Guardian University Guide 2018. We have also achieved the top accolade in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), published on the 22nd June by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE). We are investing on a number of fronts, from research excellence, through to a new teaching and learning strategy, and a substantial campus building plan.  All of this is to enable us to continue our rise through the league tables and cement our place as a leading global university.

The IT Project Management Office, based within IT Services, delivers and supports key strategic, corporate and IT projects on behalf of Coventry University Group, working with and building physical and virtual teams to support and enable successful delivery.

You will build relationships at a senior level and act as a liaison amongst different stakeholder groups in order to scope projects and mitigate risk and ambiguity with regard to requirements. You will form and coordinate project teams, composed of staff within IT Services and across the University Group, in order to progress and deliver projects and services. You will concurrently manage a number of projects, taking these from initial idea through to transition to live service and support. Typical projects range from system and service implementation, organisational change, IT work packages of Estates projects, and national and international campus expansions.

You will be expected to develop and maintain project documentation in-line with PMO processes, and identify, request and manage resources allocated to the project – both financial and staffing. As a key member of the IT Services team, you will play a part in defining and delivering solutions that will change the way in which Coventry University Group operates. You will also play a role in supporting the development of the PMO function and project management methodology and processes at the University. You should have project and programme management experience and extensive knowledge of working with stakeholders to capture requirements and define ideas.

Coventry University is a stimulating, diverse and enthusiastic organisation that is committed to delivering the very best experience for our students and staff alike. That's where you come in: if you would like to achieve the personal satisfaction of making a real difference to people's lives through your own individual contribution then we'd like to hear from you. As one of Coventry's biggest employers, we offer some pretty impressive benefits including pension schemes, generous holiday allowances, flexible working, a childcare vouchers scheme, great training, personal and professional development and discounted membership to the University's bespoke £4m sport and recreation centre. In addition we have a number of lifestyle benefits, such as our cycle to work scheme, CU living and our CU car share scheme, all designed to support your career, wellbeing and the environment. The University is also primarily based in the centre of Coventry, allowing great access to the road and rail networks.
