Compliance Officer

Swansea University - Swansea University Finance Department

Salary: £33,518 to £38,833 per annum (pro-rata if part time) together with USS pension benefits.

The normal expectation is that the successful applicant will be appointed to the minimum of the scale with annual increments on 1 October each year (subject to completing six months service).

APM Grade 8.

Interviews will take place on Thursday 11th January 2018.

Main Purpose of the Post
This individual will be responsible for significantly contributing to providing and further developing a compliantly high quality, comprehensive, professional financial accounting service.

Role modelling leadership qualities, they will support the Head of Financial Accounting and Business Services in leading in compliance for the Finance Function, developing capability and insight in advance of organisation need.  They will understand the local and organisational business environment, identifying risks, providing insights and flexible, innovative solutions based on a long-term view of the organisation’s direction, shaping and aligning the Finance compliance solution accordingly.

Acting with a strong sense of purpose and a dynamic vision for Finance, they will confidently provide advice and support on technical compliance matters to Finance staff. They will continually evaluate their own impact and that of the overall function in order to improve as a professional and drive sustainable performance.

This post is expected to work closely with The Head of Financial Accounting and Business Services as well as the Taxation Manager, Financial Accounts Manager and Income Manager.
