Research Fellow in Health Economics (79182-127)

University of Warwick - Warwick Medical School

Following considerable success in the award of new research funding in the area of health economics, we are seeking to appoint to a new position at Research Fellow grade. You will join the Warwick Clinical Trials Unit (WCTU), Warwick Medical School, and will contribute to the development of a portfolio of new trial-based and modelling-based economic evaluations.

This will include a trial-based economic evaluation of inducing labour at 39 weeks’ gestation to prevent shoulder dystocia and birth injury in pregnant women with predicted macrosomia, a feasibility study of early positive approaches to support families of young children with intellectual disability, and the development of a UK evidence based pathway for the management of chronic constipation in adults.

You will have a PhD (or equivalent) in health economics or a related discipline. A proven interest in conducting economic evaluations is essential as is some experience of using statistical software (e.g. SPSS, STATA or SAS), coupled with the ability and potential to produce high quality health economics research relevant to the health sciences.

If you have not yet been awarded your PhD but are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant on level 5 of the University grade structure (£28,936 pa). Upon successful award of your PhD and evidence of this fact, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure (£29,799 pa)

This post is also being advertised as a Senior Research Fellow, with one appointment to be made.

Informal enquiries are welcome and should initially be directed to Professor Stavros Petrou, or 0044 2476 151124 or Professor James Mason, or 0044 2476 151853.
