Research Assistant/Research Associate in Adaptive and Context Aware Augmented Reality

This post will be in the Virtual Environments and Computer Graphics (VECG) research group in the Department of Computer Science. The post is supported by the HUMAN project ( http://www.humanmanufacturing.eu/ ) which is developing systems to provide cognitive and psychological support for people in busy and complex work environments, such as factories and industrial assembly lines. This vacancy is available for 18 months in the first instance.

The postholder will be responsible for designing, implementing and testing a mobile augmented reality system which will provide cognitive support to users. This augmented reality system will need to be aware of the context (user’s environment) and be adaptive.

Successful candidates should have a proven track record of researching, designing, implementing and testing 3D interactive applications and should be familiar with augmented and virtual reality systems. They should be able to provide evidence of working in teams. Knowledge of state-of-the-art tools (such as Unity) highly desirable. Good communication and collaboration skills extremely important.
