Postdoctoral Researcher in Computer Science and Informatics (Impact)

The Faculty of Science and Technology is seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher to undertake a significant role in the review and evaluation of the societal and economic impact of our research. This is an opportunity for a competent researcher to undertake work to understand the impact of our research in the area of Computer Science and Informatics.

You will work with staff in the Faculty and the Research and Knowledge Exchange Office to plan and deliver the investigation, evaluation and demonstration of the impact of our research. Our key areas of research impact include robotics, data science, software engineering, game technology, simulation, interactive systems, biomedical engineering, healthcare, smart systems, and cybersecurity. You will contribute to Bournemouth University’s reputation as a vibrant center for Computing Science and Informatics. You will be responsible for building upon previous and current activities to identify, plan and develop the focus for future activities, and support us to define and develop a body of practices that we could disseminate more widely. You will take a leading role in the dissemination of research findings and will establish and support innovative forms of public engagement.

You will have demonstrable research experience in areas of computer science and informatics and need to be self-motivated and able to work using your own initiative as well as in a team. You will need highly developed communication skills and be able to work under pressure.

The post is available on a 24-month fixed term contract basis.
