Salary: £32,478 - £40,491 per annum or £26,614 - £36,461 per annum per annum if the successful applicant has transitioned to the new junior doctor pay scales before appointment

Campus: Overseas – Wellcome Trust Centre, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

We are recruiting for an enthusiastic physician to work in Vietnam, to help deliver a major new Wellcome Trust funded programme evaluating new hepatitis C treatments in a high burden setting.

The post-holder will be employed by Imperial College London and will work closely with the lead researcher on the project, Professor Graham Cooke, but will be coordinating the delivery of the project in Vietnam.

The post holder will assist with the day-to-day management of viral hepatitis studies in Vietnam by providing direct clinical liaison with the Vietnamese doctors and nurses responsible for recruiting and caring for the enrolled patients as well as helping to enrol patients in the study. They will also develop their own research skills and interests in the field of hepatitis including identifying and developing further research ideas which could be nested within the studies.

The ideal candidate will be clinically qualified with significant clinical experience in the management of viral hepatitis. They would ideally also have a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and experience of coordinating, organising and conducting clinical research.

As this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, a satisfactory enhanced for regulated activity Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required for the successful candidate. The post is available from 1 March 2018 for a period of 4 years. An overseas allowance to support the costs of living in Vietnam will also be provided as part of the appointment.
