Research Grants Coordinator (Fixed Term contract of up to one year to cover maternity leave)

Salary: £23,837 to £27,304 per annum with performance related pay up to £34,128 per annum

Location: Cranfield, Bedfordshire

Applications are invited for the role of Research Grants Co-ordinator in the busy Research Excellence Team. You will work with researchers and colleagues in academic Schools to advise on research funding opportunities and the preparation and submission of grant applications, eligibility and selection criteria, and operational developments relating to the changing funding landscape. You will also represent the University when dealing with external funding bodies and professional organisations at an operational level.

We are looking for a talented communicator with excellent interpersonal and writing skills, interested in understanding the academic research landscape and the funding available to support it.  A self-starter and confident project manager, you will be able to rapidly digest information and balance enacting attention to detail with advising staff and students on complex issues using simple, clear messaging. In addition, you will be comfortable with sourcing information yourself, systematically analysing it and applying it to a range of situations in order to provide a high quality customer service.

With a proven ability to develop and maintain effective links and working relationships across a range of stakeholders in a complex organisation and with a customer-focused, “can-do” approach, you will have previous experience of giving advice on complex issues and on procedures and policies.  You will have a first degree or equivalent experience.  Research support experience, or research experience, would be an advantage.
