Group Leader Position In Molecular Plant-Microbe Interactions

The Sainsbury Laboratory

The Sainsbury Laboratory (TSL) is a world-leading institute in plant and microbial science, dedicated to excellence in the field of molecular plant-microbe interactions.

TSL will implement a new strategic and scientific vision in 2018, which will further strengthen its position as a global institute for plant health that focusses on both fundamental and translational research required to tackle important and emerging plant diseases affecting crop production worldwide.

As part of our new vision, we seek an outstanding and highly motivated individual to lead a research group focusing on any aspect of molecular host-pathogen interactions.

We seek individuals at any stage of their career, but early-career scientists with clear potential for leadership are particularly encouraged to apply. The appointment is initially for six years, and will be reviewed after five years.

TSL is a partnership between The University of East Anglia and The Gatsby Charitable Foundation. Group Leader positions are research-focused and largely protected from additional responsibilities. Each group receives a generous allocation of ~£1.6M over five years in addition to an internationally competitive group leader salary, shared resources for large equipment, and access to support teams.
