Lecturer in Engineering and Entrepreneurship (Education and Research)

This new full-time post is available from April 2018 on a permanent basis.

As part of an ongoing drive to provide high quality education leading to significant opportunities in the workplace for our students, the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences (CEMPS), in conjunction with the Exeter Business School, is launching a new programme to empower entrepreneurial spirit within Engineering students. The Exeter Boyden Entrepreneurial Student Programme (Exeter BESt) will trail-blaze a new approach to entrepreneurship which will help mobilise an institution-wide transformation in all our faculties’ approaches to entrepreneurship education.

The role

The post of Lecturer will be to support the delivery of the Exeter Boyden Entrepreneurial Student Programme (Exeter BESt) being launched in September 2018. You will contribute to high quality research and informed teaching at both undergraduate and post graduate levels and help to further develop the provision of courses in the broad field of engineering entrepreneurship and/or innovation.

About you

For a Lecturer post you will have:

  • A first degree and/or be close to completing a PhD or equivalent in Engineering.
  • Knowledge in Engineering and Business Entrepreneurship to develop relevant teaching and research programmes.
  • A strong record in attracting funding for research, or demonstrate potential to attract such funding.
  • An active approach to inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary research.
  • Background in/knowledge of working with the Engineering Industry.
  • Enthusiasm for delivering high quality undergraduate programmes.
