The International Business Group is strongly dedicated to research, as shown by a stream of research published in top International Business and Management journals. In the latest 3-year global ranking produced by Korea University Business School, our research in the area of International Business and Strategy was ranked 12th in the world ( For more information about our research activities, please visit

Our group focuses on understanding the phenomenon of international business through multiple theoretical lenses and methodologies. We conduct research on strategy and organization of multinational corporations, people management, sustainability in international business, multilingual organizations, emerging markets such as Russia and China, international entrepreneurship and qualitative research methods.

The International Business Group contributes to the Master’s Programmes in Management and International Business ( and CEMS Global Management ( These programmes are designed to give students cutting-edge theoretical knowledge through a unique challenge-based learning experience. Our teaching assignments may also encompass undergraduate and PhD courses, and all courses are taught in English.

The position is located at the Department of Management Studies, which hosts four disciplinary areas: International Business, Organization and Management, Entrepreneurship, and Organizational Communication. For more information about the Department and the IB unit, please visit

We offer the candidate the opportunity to do research in a vibrant and active international community. There are also ample opportunities for conducting cross-disciplinary research across Aalto University and in close collaboration with the Finnish industry as well as in international research projects. The position comes with a competitive salary, teaching load of two courses per year, and a start-up package of research funding.


The ideal candidate will have the potential to publish in top journals and to develop into an excellent teacher in our programmes. The applicant should have completed their PhD in International Business or a related field, or be close to completion. All applicants will be reviewed on the basis of their research, teaching and activity in the scholarly community.

Throughout their careers, those in the academic tenure-track system are expected to carry out and supervise scholarly research, to follow the advances of their field, to provide high quality academic education, to participate in service to the Aalto University community, and to contribute to broader societal discussions in their field.
