We are looking to appoint an outstanding candidate who will complement and extend our existing research in Quaternary Science and Geoarchaeology. We welcome applications from high quality candidates working in any area of Quaternary environmental change.

Manchester is a dynamic department with a large proportion of staff having been appointed in the last five years and an outstanding group of early career academics. We aim to appoint an exceptional individual who will enhance our research and teaching. The Department was ranked 4th in the UK in the Guardian 2018 University Guide.

Essential Criteria:

  • Hold a PhD in a relevant area and have a track record of research and publication in Quaternary environmental change.
  • Have a definable area of research and teaching interests that will complement and strengthen those already present within the Quaternary Environments and Geoarchaeology Group and the wider context of Geography at Manchester.
  • Demonstrate success in securing research funding or experience of the application process.
