Job Purpose

**Appointments to grade 6 will be considered for applicants displaying the necessary level of specialist technical expertise and experience. To provide in-depth technical expertise in the areas of molecular biology and next generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation to multiple PIs and provide advice on the set up and best operation of equipment and procedures to aid delivery objectives. In addition, the postholder will undertake a range of technical support activities in line with the Institute Research & Teaching strategy.

Standard Terms & Conditions

Salary will be on the Technical and Specialist Grade 5/6, £21,585 - £25,728/£28,098 - £31,604 per annum.

This post is full time and is open ended.

New entrants to the University will be required to serve a probationary period of 6 months.

If you are appointed to Grade 5 you will be eligible to join the National Employment Savings Trust (NEST) Pension Scheme and if you are appointed to Grade 6 you will be eligible to join the Universities' Superannuation Scheme. Further information regarding the scheme is available from the Superannuation Officer, who is also prepared to advise on questions relating to the transfer of Superannuation benefits.
