Job overview:

Associate Heads of Department hold a key academic leadership role within the departmental structure.

You will work with the Head of Department to contribute to the development of strategy; develop and implement a plan for a cluster of programmes and may also have additional responsibility for a leading a particular strand of the Departmental strategy, depending on the level of challenge or size of your cluster of programmes.

The Associate Head of Department for the Design Communications cluster currently comprises responsibility for the following programmes:

  • BA (Hons) Graphic Design;
  • BA (Hons) Illustration;
  • BA(Hons) Creative Media design;
  • BA(Hons) Fashion Communication;
  • MA Graphic Arts

The role demands teaching expertise, research skills and management experience in at least one of these subject areas.

You will be:

  • Qualified to graduate level in a subject relevant to Art & Design practice
  • Qualified to postgraduate level or equivalent professional experience as a practitioner / designer
