Postdoctoral Research Associate (0.6 FTE) Grade 7

University of Liverpool - Department of Communication and Media

You will be working on an action research project recently awarded through HEFCE titled: ‘#Speakout: Calling Out Harassment, Changing the Online Campus’.  The aim of the project is to both raise awareness of online harassment and its forms amongst University of Liverpool (UoL) students, as well as creating and measuring change amongst the student population around what constitutes online harassment, what to do if you are subjected to it and how to report it.  Learnings will be shared across the UK through professional and academic networks.  The project is particularly interested in key groups including LGBTQI+ people, women, those from Black, Asian or minority ethnic backgrounds and those with a range of religious beliefs.  You will help manage the project including working in partnership with the UoL student Guild to create relevant and engaging social media campaigns, designing, implementing and collating survey and interview data and developing joint academic publications.  You should have a PhD (post-viva) in Social Sciences or Humanities with experience of designing, analysing and writing up quantitative and qualitative research and have some experience of developing social media communications.  The post is available until 30 November 2018.
