Senior Business Analyst

The Research Services team is seeking to appoint a Senior Business Analyst to lead on the analysis and documentation of business processes that will underpin new services for researchers using the Library onsite in our Reading Rooms and online via our website and other channels.

This role will work with business stakeholders within the British Library and externally, to uncover, document and validate the desired new business environment. You will identify, model and document business processes and rules and options for business change, including opportunities for efficiencies and improvements;  take responsibility for identifying, defining, analysing, documenting and validating user stories and acceptance criteria; and help to identify, define and document business transition activities (e.g. training, parallel running, go-live support). You will also lead activity in the Research Services Department to engage with users and potential users to identify and validate their needs using Value Proposition Design (see and other methods.

Successful applicants will have a strong track record of business analysis and service development for onsite and online services, ideally in a research library/information service setting. You will also be experienced in stakeholder management and working with and through others, be highly organised, and have excellent communication and presentation skills.
