Dean, School of Business

London South Bank University

London South Bank University (LSBU) has recently won the Times Higher Education
Entrepreneurial University of the Year Award, has also been named the University of
the Year for Graduate Employment by the Times/Sunday Times, and has been
awarded a TEF Silver rating.

Under the leadership of Professor David Phoenix, LSBU is now one of London’s
leading modern universities. With a new creative and entrepreneurial approach to
teaching and learning, and a renewed commitment to research that has real-world
impact across the disciplines, LSBU is an organisation that is fast becoming a
university of choice for the new generation of students.

The School of Business provides student-focused teaching and research across a
range of disciplines – from Business Enterprise, Economics and Accounting to
Marketing, Human Resources, and Management. It has three divisions: Accounting &
Finance, Business & Enterprise, and Management, Marketing & People, each of which
provides a dedicated hub for innovation. Improving NSS scores, newly accredited
courses, and good facilities are all testament to the quality of the provision within the
School, for which a range of new initiatives give an indication of the opportunities for
the new Dean.

The new Dean will provide academic and operational leadership to the School of
Business. With a strong personal record of accomplishment, and credibility in a
relevant area of academic endeavour, the ideal candidate will have the managerial
and strategic ability to develop the School in the challenging HE sector. Being
passionate about the student experience and furthering applied research, as well as
demonstrating an aptitude for leading across a diverse range of business subjects,
will be critical, as will enthusiasm for making a significant contribution to LSBU’s
Senior Management Group more broadly.
