The UCL Engineering Faculty offers engineering education in a range of subjects, including Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering, Security and Crime Science, and Science, Technology, Engineering and Public Policy. This role will work closely with colleagues in UCL Engineering and UCL Careers, and across UCL, as well externally with a wide range of employers to organise the Engineering Faculty’s employer event’s programme.

Duties will include working with a range of organisations to develop an interesting and interactive events programme for students in the Engineering Faculty, including surveying the students to understand topics of interest, marketing the events and collecting feedback afterwards. The current programme of employer events including panel discussions, workshops and 1:1 coaching sessions. They will also be responsible for keeping accurate details of employer contacts and student activity on various databases in conjunction with the Engineering Careers Administrator. The role will be managed by the Engineering Careers Team Leader and will work directly with the Engineering Careers Administrator and the rest of the team.

The successful candidate will have experience organising an events programme, as well as excellent customer service skills, ideally developed in a commercial context. They will also have excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritise own workload and remain calm under pressure. They will be proficient in Microsoft Office, and using databases to manage contacts, vacancies and events, as well as have experience communicating with a range of audiences in both written and oral format. The ability to work as a member of a team as well as the ability to work unsupervised are also essential to this role. Familiarity with social media tools such as Twitter, Facebook and blogs in a commercial environment would be an advantage, as would experience of working in a graduate recruitment or higher education careers context.

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 6. The salary range will be £28,014 - £32,830 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
