Salaries will be from £34,520 - £42418 (grade F) at Lecturer level, £42,418 - £56,950 (grade G) for Senior Lecturer level, £55,566 - £70,007 (grade H) at Associate Professor level. For appointments at professorial level, the salary will be competitive reflecting qualification and experience.

The Department of Biosciences is continuing to enhance and expand its vibrant community of internationally-leading researchers and educators at our Exeter campus, with seven Academic positions available from 1st July 2018 across all levels of seniority, from Lecturer to full Professor.

Applications are encouraged from outstanding scientists in all fields of Biology, from ecosystems to biological chemistry, and its industrial, commercial and environmental applications and those working on microbial communities and their relationship to plant, animal and human health. Part-time appointments and joint appointments with NGOs and industrial partners are also encouraged.

The Department of Biosciences and the University have exceptional resources, including one of the largest and most diverse aquatic facilities in Europe (https://www.exeter.ac.uk/research/marine/facilities/), bespoke plant and invertebrate facilities, outstanding imaging capabilities (including cryo-electron, super-resolution fluorescence and light sheet microscopy), a small-molecule focussed mass spectrometry facility, NMR spectroscopy and one of the UK’s best-regarded sequencing facilities (http://sequencing.exeter.ac.uk). The recent major infrastructure investments by the University, such as the Living Systems Institute (https://www.exeter.ac.uk/livingsystems) and the BioEconomy Centre, both of which are directly attached to the main Biosciences building, demonstrate the depth of excellence and future vision for life-sciences research and teaching at Exeter.
