Fixed Term - Maternity Cover (Part-Time 22.5 hours)

Support & Strategy, grade 3 (Salary £26,201 - £31,703 pro rata)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced administrator to support the COSMIC project ( based at the Wellcome Genome Campus. Working within the COSMIC team you will support the day to day administration needs of the team. You will have the key responsibility of managing the full administration requirements and smooth running of the COSMIC licensing and renewal processes.

This will involve a variety of tasks, maintaining accurate records, communicating with commercial licensees and companies enquiring about purchasing a license. Tracking company licenses and invoice payments, ensuring access restrictions and keeping user-authorisation databases up-to-date.

To succeed in the role of COSMIC team administrator you will be methodical and well organised, you will be able to work well within a team and demonstrate excellent communication skills. For the right candidate there is the potential for this role to be further expanded into a more general communications role, taking on some or complete responsibility for the more scientific focused communications. These include emails updating users of new COSMIC releases and other important information, social media, blog posts and press releases.

This is a part-time maternity cover (22 ½ hours/week), fixed term for 9 months in the first instance with potential to become permanent. We are open to a range of flexible working options.

Essential Skills

 * Excellent administrative and record keeping skills

 * Excellent customer service skills

 * Experience of communicating effectively internally and externally

 * Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy

 * Apply a methodical and well-organised approach to work

 * Ability to develop good working relationships with people at all levels and work as part of a team

 * Numeracy and the ability to manage/interpret financial and user information

 * Experience of database entry, along with good knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel and Word)

Ideal Skills

 * Experience in scientific administration or working within a research environment

 * Experience of working in a commercial/ sales environment
