About You

Experienced in systems administration, maintenance and enhancement you will also have a track record of successfully managing, monitoring and evaluating systems development projects. Ideally, you will have a practical mix of technical expertise, project management experience, Higher Education systems knowledge and strong communication skills enabling you to:

  • take responsibility for the operational performance of the university's externally hosted virtual learning environment (Blackboard) and other related systems
  • troubleshoot technical issues, find innovative solutions and make decisions
  • convey complex conceptual ideas and technical information, to a non-technical audience
  • manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing circumstances in an evolving environment
  • work effectively as a member of a professional team with diverse and overlapping specialties, towards a shared goal
  • collaborate, persuade and inspire others

About the Role

As a member of the Learning Technology Development Division within Learning Services, you will provide expert systems support, in liaison with systems suppliers and IT Services colleagues. You will take responsibility for, routine day-to-day system administration, as well as co-ordinating technical maintenance, upgrades and enhancement activities.

You will have an opportunity to shape the development of the university’s learning technology systems to best meet the needs of the service, and make a real difference to the student and staff user experience.
