In support of our significant investment in Sport and Exercise Science we are seeking to appoint inspiring and ambitious individuals to be involved in teaching and research. This post offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the developments in Sport and Exercise Science at Newcastle University and to contribute to the growth of the academic discipline of Sport and Exercise Science within our Faculty of Medical Sciences. Teaching commitments will be primarily on the new BSc in Sport and Exercise Sciences. There will also be scope to contribute to the development and support of other programmes. The successful candidates will be expected to make a significant contribution to research and to demonstrate a developing independent research profile.

You will hold a good honours degree in sport and exercise science or a related subject, along with a PhD (or equivalent) in an appropriate subject. A record of excellent research is essential to this role, as well as knowledge and experience of the delivery of sport and exercise science programmes in higher education.

You will have the knowledge, ability and expertise to teach the relevant subject area at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including large group and small group teaching and project supervision. Effective time management and prioritisation skills are essential. You will also have the ability to engage counselling skills and provide pastoral care where appropriate.

Appointments will be in the School of Biomedical Sciences with affiliation to one of our research institutes as appropriate.
