Working as part of an integrated College Professional Services team, the primary role of this post is to provide a full professional and confidential Administration Assistant service to members of academic members of the Institute of Biomedical and Clinical Science based within the Hatherly Labs on Streatham campus, working closely with other Administrators within the Institute but specifically responsible for covering the day to day business within Hatherly.

The post-holder must be able to proactively plan and prioritise a busy and varied workload, will be expected to contribute to a range of key projects and activities, and will be capable of dealing with people at all levels. You will be expected to work closely with academic colleagues and to be a key point of contact for the Director of the Institute and his Personal Assistant.

The Hatherly based administrator is an essential link between IBCS staff based on Streatham Campus, St Lukes Campus, Wonford Site and the University of Exeter Medical School’s central management within the College and receives, manages and processes internal and external matters in relation to the College’s operation and business.

The post-holder will have to develop commercial awareness, keeping up-to-date with current changes and developments in the University and the Higher Education sector as a whole.

You will have significant experience of providing administration support to a large and varied team, providing complex and extensive diary management and email monitoring to the more senior staff and have a thorough and up to date working knowledge of Microsoft Office with accurate typing skills. If this role is for you, you will have a friendly, helpful and professional manner that constantly balances your “can-do” approach with the need to meet demanding deadlines within a full and sometimes complicated workload.
