Aston Medical School is focused on promoting social mobility, leadership qualities and international connectivity in medicine and provides highly interactive learning experiences for our students. Our Aston Medical Research Institute (AMRI) established to promote translational medicine and a culture of discovery-based innovative research is transforming lives.

We now seek skilled science educators and researchers ready to lead the management and delivery of an innovative integrated medical science curriculum in a new medical school. The post holders will have an excellent track record in the biomedical field, with a rising trajectory and evidence of current research grant funding. A total commitment to undergraduate teaching is essential, ideally in the broad areas of pharmacology, physiology, pathology, microbiology, cell biology, immunology or genetics. We welcome applications from those in academic positions, as well as personal fellowship holders e.g. senior fellowships or late-stage intermediate fellowships, who have established independent profiles.

The educational contribution will initially focus on MBChB and BSc programmes using learning technologies where appropriate and will emphasise clinical relevance throughout. Teaching commitments are likely to include large and small group lecturing and workshops, and online teaching and tutoring. A track record of scholarly educational development and delivery would be desirable along with a passion for enabling student learning, and an enthusiasm for cross-discipline working with colleagues across the University and NHS.

We wish to appoint up to 4 posts across a range of biomedical sciences at either Senior Lecturer or Lecturer level.  Applicants are asked to submit a CV along with one application at either Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level and to indicate which science disciplines you are able to offer.
