Continual Improvement Manager (People) (part time)

Location: University Park

Salary: £38,833 to £47,722 per annum pro-rata depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

This role is part of a team created in August 2016 within the Student Services Department at the University of Nottingham, which focuses on service quality. 

The role-holder will work closely with colleagues across Student Services and the wider University to oversee and engage with projects and developments which focus in on the capabilities, capacity and well-being of staff in Student Services. Working in tandem with an equivalent role whose primary focus is on process and system improvement the successful candidate will give specialist advice and direction for the continual improvement of service delivery. This will involve close engagement with other professional services teams to ensure the sought for improvements are implemented. 

Duties will focus in on four themes:

  • Colleague engagement: Developing and implementing an engagement plan to enhance staff well-being and collaboration
  • Communication: Leading on the planning and implementation of all communications within the department
  • Colleague development: building links with other professional services to implement a training and development programme giving colleagues the skills and capabilities to improve service delivery
  • Performance: managing the department’s people plan that supports colleague career planning and development. 

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, highly self-motivated with a genuine interest in continual improvement and helping colleagues to improve the service to our key stakeholders. Applicants must be highly proficient in building positive relationships with staff from all levels of the institution and must demonstrate strategic business planning skills and have experience of continual improvement practice.

This is a permanent, part time post at up to 0.6 full time equivalent, 21.75h per week.
