FACS Facility Manager/Experimental Officer

In this position you will support the establishment of a new multi-user FACS Facility within the University of Leicester. You will be responsible for the management, planning and running of the facility. The main purpose will be to maintain the operation of cutting-edge FACS equipment and provide training and technical assistance to researchers. Training will provide expertise on experimental design, operation of FACS equipment and the use of specialist analysis software.

You will be experienced in multi-colour flow cytometric cell sorting, standard techniques of tissue culture, standard molecular biology techniques and the use of FACS analysis software. You must be educated to degree level in a biological sciences subject area, and a PhD in a relevant subject area would be beneficial. Good communication and technical skills are also essential in order to train people of different educational backgrounds and research needs.
