 About you and the Role

The Bath Spa Centre for Transnational Creativity and Education (TRACE) is looking for a Research Assistant (RA) with specialist knowledge of user engagement and event coordination.  The RA will be the first point of contact for TRACE, keeping the diary and managing email traffic. This will involve ensuring that the commitments of the Director and her core team are well planned, communicated and executed.  Beyond the core day-to-day duties, the new appointee will be part of TRACE’s recently formed Research Assistant team, set up to help incubate, accelerate and sustain our emerging portfolio of creative projects.

Applicants should have prior experience as an engagement coordinator, event manager or executive assistant within a creative and/or research environment. Above all you must be a great communicator, a good problem solver and you must always work to a high degree of accuracy. Additional skills/training that would be an advantage to the job include experience design, gamification, marketing or service engagement.

This post would be suitable for an experienced industry professional looking to gain a foothold within a creative research environment, or a recent graduate/doctoral student with prior industry experience. The ideal candidate will be able to translate their practical knowhow into guidelines, models and toolkits that are shareable and replicable within a research context.

Subject to the success of current funding bids, there may be opportunity to extend the contract beyond the initial 8-month period. For an informal discussion regarding this post, please contact Professor Bambo Soyinka on b.soyinka@bathspa.ac.uk.

Interview date: Wednesday 31st January 2018
