Ada, the National College of Digital Skills, is a specialist college which inspires the students of today to become the digital pioneers of tomorrow. In 2017, Ada launched its new Higher Level Apprenticeship in Digital Innovation, accredited by the Open University. At the end of the first two years of the programme, apprentices will gain a Foundation Degree in Digital Innovation, with progression opportunity to a full Bachelors Degree. To fit with varying skills and interests, the degree programme includes three pathways to allow for a tailored programme. Technical pathway equips students to work as professionals in the field of software development, Creative pathway prepares the student to take an active role in the creation of computational systems in digital media, and Entrepreneurial pathway provide students with the skills, knowledge and practical experience required to respond to the challenges involved in the modern workplace.

We are seeking applications from individuals who can contribute directly to the proposed degree programme, supervision of laboratory sessions, student mentoring and supervision of capstones projects / dissertations. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the design of new courses and programmes including the continuous improvement of existing courses
  • Develop resources required to facilitate student learning
  • Deliver course content to student, including lecturer, laboratory and tutorials elements
  • Develop and deliver modules in a manner consistent with the OU academic standards
  • Set and assess exams and continuous assessments
  • Use a wide range of learning and teaching methodologies and assessments which foster a positive and supportive learning environment for students
  • Contribute to team effectiveness, leadership/management and administration.
  • Represent the College externally as appropriate

Applications are specifically invited from those with teaching/industrial expertise at undergraduate level in the following subject areas: Object oriented programming, Software development, Artificial intelligence, Cloud Computing, Mobile application development and Data Analytics.
