Hours: Full-time (1.0 FTE)

Basis: Fixed Term contract for 2 years

An opportunity has arisen within the School of Community Health and Midwifery for a Nurse Lecturer to join our highly committed Health and Social Care team. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and visionary, keen to shape education and influence the student experience in a positive manner.

Applicants must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, currently working within a Health and Social care environment and be educated to graduate level in a subject related to the contemporary health & social care agenda. A teaching qualification is also essential.

Extensive, contemporary practice experience of working within a Health and Social Care setting and evidence of current Nursing clinical activity/links is essential, and you will have a keen interest in developments in the health and social care field. Recent teaching, learning and assessment experience (higher or further education preferred) is required as is experience of supporting students.

You will have a sound understanding and knowledge of the current health and social care agenda, be committed to the success of your students and be able to show that you can effectively support learning and teaching in both the classroom and placement areas. A flexible, innovative approach to teaching, learning and assessment as well as within the changing educational environment is essential. Effective time management skills and good presentation and communication skills are also core requirements for this position.

The successful applicant will assist in the development and delivery of the curricula including the Foundation Degree programmes and other relevant studies. There will be an expectation that the successful candidates will lead academic modules and teach across UCLan’s campuses on a range of courses.
