Fixed term contract.
28 hours per week.

Due to maternity leave, the University Counselling Service has additional resource (fixed term 15 month maximum) to appoint a professionally qualified and experienced counsellor to join our dynamic team working with students and staff who present with a wide range of issues. The start date will be mid-March 2018. The post will be 4 days per week (with Wednesdays off).

You will be professionally trained and accredited (through BACP or equivalent) and experienced in working with predominantly short term counselling interventions and will appreciate the benefits of this brief work in the Higher Education context. You will have a clear and demonstrable understanding of the application of counselling in a Higher Education institution.

You will be a team player with a pragmatic, positive, ‘can-do’ approach. You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication and administrative skills and an ability to manage your own workload to meet the needs of the service. You will also contribute to the continuing development of university support provision.
