The Department of Chemistry is one of the key departments in the College of Science and Engineering with approximately 50 academic and support staff, around 100 research workers and around 350 undergraduate students. Our research areas span the breadth of chemistry and include Synthesis and Catalysis, Chemical Biology, Materials, Atmospheric and Earth Observation Science, and Spectroscopy and Dynamics.

You will deliver high quality research in an area of synthetic chemistry (organic or inorganic) and we are particularly interested in research that is well-aligned to the Synthesis and Catalysis research group.

You will also be expected to undertake teaching across a range of chemistry courses, as well as performing administrative duties.
