Urban Observatory Technician - D104269T

The duties of this post are principally to assemble, maintain and facilitate the deployment, of the Newcastle Urban Observatory sensors both on and off site and to manage the overall maintenance programme including planning and coordinating the work of a team. This may involve diagnosis and rectification of sensor faults including replacement of components. You will be expected to keep abreast of current technologies and equipment related to urban sensing.

You should be educated to HNC/D level in a relevant area and ideally with interests in IT and a knowledge of electronics, data logging and basic communications. You should also be a positive and proactive person with excellent organisational and co-ordination skills to enable co-operative team work.

This post is fixed term for 2 years and is full-time.
