FTE: Full-time position working 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE)

This exciting new post in the School of Engineering and Technology offers the opportunity for an individual to play a key role in the delivery of the School’s new Manufacturing Engineering Degree and to help drive forward the School’s portfolio of research and commercial activities. The School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer with experience and expertise in one or more of the following:

Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Systems Engineering

Manufacturing Technology

Operations Management

Manufacturing Strategy

Quality, Reliability, Maintenance


Main duties & responsibilities:

  • To lecture and support students in the field of Manufacturing Engineering and Materials.
  • To engage in research and commercial consultancy activity in Manufacturing Engineering; the role also includes the building of partnerships with external organisations for the purpose of sponsorship and knowledge transfer activities

Skills and experience needed:

Applicants will be expected to have significant experience and expertise in Manufacturing Engineering and Materials within an academic or industrial engineering environment, in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience of teaching and curriculum review and development will be advantageous.

Qualifications required:

A good Honours academic degree and/or a PhD in Manufacturing Engineering or a related area.
