University of Reading - Campus Services

To provide a Portering service as part of a wider team within Campus Services to the University community its visitors and guests.

To prepare buildings, external areas and classrooms for academic, administrative, examination, event and conference use across the two main campuses.

To deliver internal post and respond to queries from building users. To work closely with the Building Support Officers, Cleaners and Security to ensure that University business runs smoothly.

You will have:

  • IT Literate with knowledge of MS Office
  • Experience working as part of a team
  • Good levels of literacy and numeracy
  • Experience of working in a customer focused environment
  • Experience of heavy lifting processes and using equipment to facilitate this.
  • UK Driving Licence - The driving licence is required because furniture and other items may require being moved around the campus.
  • Be confident, friendly and polite
  • Able to use initiative and prioritise work
  • A team player
  • Excellent command of English
  • Willing and able to work overtime when required
  • Ability to work on a rotating shift pattern
