The University of Buckingham inaugurated the UKs first independent medical school at its beautiful campus in the historic town of Buckingham in 2015. We are currently preparing for our fourth intake of students. One of the key features of our programme is the way we care for and support medical students throughout their demanding studies.

The School is expanding its student support domain and is seeking to recruit for the position of Student and Staff Support Assistant. This is a key role in the Student Support team helping to deliver and coordinate all aspects of the domain.

We are looking for individuals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who will be principle liaison and first point of contact for all our medical students.  The ideal candidate will be approachable and personable and will demonstrate excellent organisation and practical skills.

The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail and be meticulous in their record keeping and administration of records.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office-based tools (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is essential and knowledge of virtual learning environments such as Moodle and the Undergraduate Medical ePortfolio (UMeP) would be beneficial.  Experience of minute-taking would be advantageous. Maintaining confidentiality and completing tasks with the utmost integrity is vital to this role to protect the sensitivity of student information.

In addition the post holder must be able to work independently, flexibly and be able to work under pressure at times that fit the needs of the School. Having an element of creativity would also be valuable.
