Vice Principal - Curriculum and Quality

Blackburn College

Blackburn College is one of the UK’s largest and most successful colleges, and sector-leading in its curriculum development, delivery and relevance to employer needs. We have approximately 13,000 students across Further Education and Higher Education, upwards of 1000 staff and a turnover in excess of £43m. We provide the full range of courses, from 14-19 through to Higher Education, delivered in a largely newly built, world class environment. While 50% of our revenue comes from Further Education, 39% is contributed by Higher Education courses.

Blackburn College is seeking to appoint a sector leading Vice Principal who has the focus, motivation and capability to take us back to Ofsted Outstanding and ensure we further our goal of becoming an indispensable partner to the local and regional business community.  The progression and achievement of our students; the high quality of teaching and learning and the effective leadership of our staff lies at the heart of this appointment.  A confident, capable and effective leader of people with a demonstrable track record of innovation, achievement and success is sought.  Nothing less will meet our needs, and those of our stakeholders.

If you possess gravitas, the leadership credentials and a track record of delivering in a high profile and sector leading mixed economy educational institution – we want to hear from you.  We will provide the stretch and challenge to enable you to help us deliver for those we serve.

As an individual you will be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

Blackburn College values diversity and is committed to creating a diverse workforce.
