The Research and Innovation Office supports staff and students in achieving excellence and impact to deliver the University’s vision for research and innovation. Conducting transformational research across the Technology Readiness Levels that is close to business is core to our mission. We enable this through our Research Excellence Team which provides expertise, support and best practice for our staff and students in accessing funding, forming new collaborations, managing Doctoral Training programmes and managing the outputs and outcomes of their research.

We are seeking an experienced Administrator to support the smooth running of the office, providing first class secretarial and administrative support to ensure efficiency, professionalism, and high standards of customer service, making recommendations for improvements to processes when necessary. Key administrative activities will relate to Ethics, Research Governance and the Cranfield Doctoral Network, with a ‘student experience’ focus.

You will provide an administrative function within the Research and Innovation Office in an efficient and effective manner, maintaining the required levels of confidentiality, this will include assisting with the operation of the Cranfield University Research Ethics System (CURES) as a point of contact for queries, as well as supporting CUREC and various other committees operated by the Research and Innovation Office.

You must have sufficient experience in administrative work to have a thorough understanding of office systems, processes and databases, as well as experience of developing and managing systems and procedures within a large, complex organisation, establishing productive working relationships with a wide range of people and co-ordinating a team within his or her immediate working area and managing communications and activities of a highly sensitive nature, with recognition of the importance of confidentiality.

You must be educated to A-level standard (or equivalent) and have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
