PA to Deputy Head of College, Director of Education and Director of Research

This post provides secretarial and administrative support to the Deputy Head of College and 2 College Directors and any other secretarial support as needed in the College Hub. The role combines traditional secretarial support with support for more project-based activity. The environment in which the post holder will work will be busy and the skills of initiative, flexibility and pro-activity will be important as well as the ability to prioritise effectively. The role requires high levels of confidentiality and ability to work as part of a secretarial team as well as independently. The post holder will be expected to support fellow PAs as appropriate and liaise with internal and external contacts at all levels, in a professional, discreet and efficient manner.  The ability to provide a first-class secretariat service to meetings is required. Proven experience in a PA role is an essential requirement.

The successful candidate requires an extensive and appropriate combination of people skills, negotiation skills and ability to work on own initiative to creatively problem solve in this busy and demanding role

The post-holder must be a good team worker with excellent interpersonal skills who will excel in developing relationships with colleagues within the College of Social Science and across the University. The post-holder must have the ability to work in a busy and fast-paced environment and cope with conflicting demands as the post requires a significant amount of initiative and personal responsibility. They must be confident and competent in dealing with senior members of the University.

The post-holder is expected to become familiar with the University’s key policies and procedures.

Experience of working in Higher Education would be desirable.

Starting salary is normally in the range £19,156 to £20,514. With potential progression once in post to £25,009 a year.
